Sharing Skills and Knowledge

As a Charity Dance Reading is committed to supporting the wider dance landscape in Reading, which also includes supporting young people beginning their journey in dance and also artists and teachers who are delivering community projects.

We do this through programmes of professional development which are often embedded within our community projects in order to up-skill and certify local dance artists or through one-off workshops and training opportunities throughout the year.

We are also proud to be a part of the Reading Dance Professionals Network, that offers a wide range of support for emerging and existing dance professionals in Reading and the surrounding areas. You can join the RDPN Facebook group here to connect with the sector: www.facebook.com/groups/ReadingDance/

Safeguarding Training

This tailor-made course will help you to build your knowledge of safeguarding children and adults at risk, you will develop your knowledge of the different approaches needed to support safeguarding children and young people over the age of 18 in general and when working online. Using interactive activities you will explore safeguarding in your own context and look at areas of best practice and guidance to support you in risk assessing your own online activities with participants.

If you are interested in taking part in a similar workshop please email liz@dancereading.com with your name, contact telephone number and name of organisation if relevant.

Mentoring & Producing

Dance Reading also seeks out opportunities to support local dance artists where they might benefit from additional mentoring and producing support in order to further develop the art form of dance in Reading and where the aims of the local dance organisation are inline with that of ours.

Previous support has included advice and guidance on project planning and writing funding applications, as well as more bespoke support producing projects more closely in order to help artists achieve the artistic quality and output that they are aiming for.
