Locomotion

FREE Half Term Dance Activity 2016

Looking for something FREE to do at half-term with your child or grandchild? Could you imagine dancing in a museum? We need participants of all ages and experience to take part in

LocoMotion, a dance project at Reading Museum.

Working on themes inspired by the museum’s current exhibition On Track, about the history of the railways in Reading, participants will devise a performance specifically for the museum spaces. You’ll exchange stories about your experience and memories of the railway, and then make movement based on these stories to perform for visitors at the Reading Museum.

We are open to anyone joining in, whether or not you have dance experience! You just need lots of enthusiasm and a willingness to perform. We are especially looking for pairs of adult and child, which could be parent & child, grandparent & child, aunt & niece, cousins, step-sisters, friends, etc! Lower age limit is 8 years, upper age limit is 110 years! Children must be accompanied by an adult (18+) (two children to one adult is ok) but adults can also take part on their own if they want.
